Introduction – What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization.
Essentially, it is the practice of enhancing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website.
This is done via organic search engine results (Site traffic that comes to your website as a result of unpaid search results. The main reason that SEO exists in the first place).?
This diagram below illustrates the definition:
As you can see, if I enter the search term: best running trainers the results in the upper box are paid ads whilst the ones in the lower box are organic.
Part-time Jobs For SEO
So now that I have given you a brief overview of what SEO is, I’ll now move on to the second part of your question! “Are there any part-time jobs for SEO?”
In short, the answer to this is yes – most definitely!
There are many tasks to be done when it comes to SEO including but not limited to:
- Article/blog post writing
- Submission of content
Pearl Lemon, ? is an SEO agency that is based in London, and one of our specialisms is SEO.
Our client’s goal is to improve their website’s position in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) in order to gain traffic from “natural” aka “organic” searches on various search engines.
This often involves us providing Local SEO services to our London based clients who run a small business.
So now that we’ve established that there are ways to get stuck into some SEO on a part-time basis, let’s look at some ways that this can be done.
As mentioned above, businesses want to increase their website’s position in the SERPs.
This is to enable them to ideally rank on the first page of search engines (for obvious reasons). Therefore, businesses often reach out to freelancers or people who would like to work either part-time or full-time to work on the things that will improve the SEO.
For example, this might involve creating or updating high-quality relevant content.
Here I’d like to emphasise that if you do decide to do some SEO content writing for a company’s blog, it MUST be of high quality after all content is KING! So I’d recommend brushing up on your copywriting skills before embarking on this, by taking some online courses.
How do I find part-time jobs for SEO?
Ok, sounds great so far, but how do I find and reach out to these companies that are looking for people who can help them with their SEO on a part-time basis?
There are plenty of platforms that are designed to connect people who want a job done, with people willing to do it. For example, there’s Fiverr and Upwork.
Alternatively, you may be able to find such opportunities on online job boards. Search for terms such as ‘SEO expert UK’ or ‘freelance SEO consultant London’ for example. ?
