I’ve always had a passion for marketing and branding. In the 6th grade, I tried to create my own skateboard brand and dreamed of starting my own company. It wasn’t until several years, ideas, and experiences later that my dreams finally became a reality. Today, I’m co-owner of a Boston based clothing line, as well as the founder of Brandignity, a digital marketing firm that specializes in bringing business dreams to life through a variety of inbound marketing efforts. Brandginity is a dream come true for me, and it gives me the chance to help other people do the same.

I had the opportunity to have an amazing conversation with Maciej Fita at Brandignity today. From talking about SEO for Websites, Maciej agreed to a quick interview.
He took the time to talk to me and answer some questions so I could get to know him better and hear more about the things that have helped shape his business success to date – let’s get stuck into it!
What Is The Book (Or Books) You’ve Given Most As A Gift, And Why?
The Steve Jobs book was life-changing. It made me approach life and business in a whole new light. The way he approached life and product development was nothing short of genius. I don’t think the world was ready for Apple when it started, but it sure is now.
What Purchase Of $100 Or Less Has Most Positively Impacted Your Life In The Last Six Months?
A Jaxxon.com gold chain. My wife says I look really fly in it, that’s all that matters.
When You Feel Overwhelmed Or Unfocused, Or Have Lost Your Focus Temporarily, What Do You Do?
Talk to my 3-year-old. Sometimes you just need to take a step away from the computer and let your brain breathe a little by having a conversation with a toddler. The truly important things in life will put you back into focus. If you’ve never had a conversation with a 3-year old, I recommend it.
What are bad recommendations you hear in your profession or area of expertise?
To only focus on keywords. Keywords are important, but they’re just one ingredient in the digital marketing soup. People get way too obsessed with keywords and rankings sometimes. There are so many other ways to gain good visibility that converts.

What Is One Of The Best Or Most Worthwhile Investments You’ve Ever Made?
Our website. We never stop building it out and most likely never will. Each time we decided to build a new section of pages or put together a solid list of blog topics, we draw in some great inbound activity that leads to leads. Too many companies build a website and sit on it for five years and never do anything with it. It’s a puppy, you have to feed it to watch it grow. Feed a lot to watch it run!
What careers advice would you give to your 21-year old self?
Invest in Google! No seriously, I probably would have invested more in technology companies. I’ve bumped into a handful of millionaires over the years that invested just a little in some of the most influential companies in technology which led them to great fortune.
How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success? Do you have a “favourite failure” of yours?
Honestly, COVID has caused me to think more differently than ever before. Not just about business but life as well. The hustle that has emerged from our partners and us is amazing to watch.
What advice would you give to a smart, driven college student about to enter the “real world”? What advice should they ignore?
Follow your passions. If you don’t, you will be stuck in a cubicle at a job you hate, and before you realize it, it’s too late to pivot. Even if it’s something you have to nurture on the side, do something you have a passion for and don’t stop.
Tell Us About Your Business. What Does It Do And What Value Do You Add?
We’re a full-service digital marketing agency. We help mostly SMBs grow their visibility online through various digital marketing strategies. Sounds boring right? Truth is, there are a lot of companies that do what we do, but I think our transparency is what makes us different. Buying marketing services is sometimes like car insurance, so we try to really emphasize on our tangibles.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I’ve always wanted a clothing brand. Tried to start a few over the years.
Where do you see your industry in the next 5 years?
If COVID doesn’t leave probably non-existent, lol. On an honest note, I think AI is really going to infiltrate. AI is quickly climbing and already being used for certain paid advertising platforms. I think it’s only going to grow stronger.
What is a 'hack' you have for success that most people don't know about?
I really don’t think there is a hack for success. Wake up early and do the work!
What one song can you listen to every day non-stop?

What is a useful skill someone could learn in one minute?
Jumping rope. Fitness is important for good strong health.
How has Covid-19 changed your industry?
I touched upon this earlier, but it’s really hurt marketing companies. When it first hit marketing departments literally pulled all their budgets. I’ve seen colleagues shut their doors and conduct mass layoffs only to survive. It’s been awful to watch. I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but for a while, it was pretty dark for many.
How has Covid-19 changed your company?
We all work remote now. That allows us to consider talent from further afield and reduces precious time spent commuting. There are also new distractions with the lack of separation between personal and professional realms.
What is the most surprising thing you've seen in your industry?
Not so much anymore but the crazy spammy stuff people used to fall for back in the day when it comes to SEO was insane. I’ve seen clients hire other “SEO” companies only to run a link report and see the most awful links anyone can possibly create. Some of them darn right offensive!
What's your favourite colour?
White but I’m a sucker for a cherry red Ferrari.
What's your favourite holiday destination?
The tropics! But now I live in a tropical location where people vacation so it’s a bit surreal at times.
What popular celebrity do you admire the most and why?
The Rock, that man knows how to hustle.
What one thing in life do you consider to be overrated?
Taking mundane things way too seriously. Life is short and tomorrow ain’t guaranteed so enjoy today as much as possible.
What's something exciting you're currently working on/learning that only a few people know about?
Oh, you will see. We have an ace card up our sleeve and it could save the business world billions. Did I over hype it?
What are you NOT Very Good at?
Answering the phone….I know that’s bad as a business owner but I get like 10 sales calls a day so at times it’s just tough for me to pick up the call.
