Mighty Networks Review: An Online Community Platform

So here we are with Mighty Networks. It is a place to kind of bring your community together. It’s how you can create a website or a platform, I guess you can say, to provide courses memberships, different things like that, and overall be more engaged with a community and people will actually pay for it.

So let’s go ahead and go to our pricing.

So there are three separate plans, the community business and mighty Pro. You get to see everything that you get with the features, as well as doing a free trial with each of them. So I definitely would recommend that to see how you feel about it, essentially. But overall, you get to do you get some polls, questions, zoom integrations, paid memberships, you get online courses, etc, and so forth. 

So there’s quite a bit with this, I would like to say that mighty networks is a place to create a more engaging platform. It’s not necessarily for a full long blog or for your business, I get this, I guess you could say where you’re providing a service, you’re providing more of a course and a place where people can learn. And they can pay for whatever they’re learning in that place. 

So let’s go ahead and go to my dashboard. So here we are, and I decided to call of my website or my platform Grow and Glow. That’s just something I thought off the top of my head. But it was quite a bit of a learning curve trying to understand this tool, it just took me a minute to kind of understand where we can start. They do have different steps to kind of help you along the way. But I want to kind of learn myself. 

So to look at the little starting step, you can do icebreaker questions, you can publish content, you can invite people at polls, create a weekly event, and create your first course as well as taking payments. So we are here at the homepage. And I would recommend watching the demo to see how you can utilize this tool in all its glory.

But let’s go ahead and go to the discovery section. So here is just where you can kind of create more engaging content with your members, you can create post, you can invite different members near you, you can also promote your link if you want to. So if you have a YouTube channel, or put it on your Facebook, you can send people here and to your community essentially. Or you can invite people directly. 

Then you have topics, top members featured and top courses that you have. Next we have the members that you can overall See, then you have the about section, the about section is just showing you your about section on your platform or your blog. And then you have the invite section where you can invite people to your platform or your community, you can invite them as a member, a host moderators, etc, and so forth. 

Or you can copy the link in chair. So I’m going to go ahead and stay on the Discovery section because that’s where the main content is. And we’re going to go ahead and create a course. You put the course title and you could put taglines, a description to help people see. For privacy, we’re going to make this private and we’re going to hit next. Then you get to kind of change the name of the Table of Contents Do you want it to be a syllabus, course material or kind of customize that name, I’ll keep it the same. 

Your lessons can be a seminar, a custom name or a lesson. So I’m gonna keep that as a lesson. And then you can break up different chapters or sections of your course. I like the name chapters, I’m going to keep it there. And then you just select the instructor for the course. And overall that’s pretty much it. You have your foundation of your course and then you can start editing content.

So here we are in the one thing is that I don’t like that. You have to kind of create the structure first, before you make the content, I prefer it to be totally all in one place. But that’s just more preferential. So here, you can just add a lesson – and you can edit.

Here’s the new lesson, you can change the name or start writing your lesson. It can be through words, pictures, videos, video links embedded, different things like that. So it’s all up to you on how you want to structure your lesson. 

You could also put thumbnails or change the visibility if you want to. And that’s pretty much it, you basically spend as much time as you want to creating different content, or different lessons. And that’s pretty much it, and you can share it to your community and promote it. If you want to.

Just to create a normal post, it is very easy. It’s just like posting on LinkedIn or Facebook or any feed post, I guess you can say, you can basically post it to any courses or your main network. You can add a topic of picture, video, link in any other files that you would like to add. Then you could schedule the posts or post and that is pretty much it, it’s very easy, very quick. 

And that’s pretty much it in regards to creating content, you can add different topics of current session if you want to look at your members, etc, and so forth. So the only thing that I don’t like about this tool that I would just consider a main con is that you can’t necessarily preview the page itself, or your platform itself. 

You can only preview it, whenever you’re creating an individual content, then you get to see that content. But I kind of want to see the whole site for the whole community that I can view myself, but you would have to go to the invite section, get the link, and then essentially open it to kind of see how your platform or your community looks. 

So here we are and now I get to see kind of all the content or the space that my members would be seeing. And it sucks that I can’t view that like very quickly on the site, or at least I haven’t really found that section for it. If you found it then great, please let me know. But yeah, this is how you can view it just by going to the invite section and seeing how your community looks like to your other members. And that’s pretty much it.

Let’s go ahead and run into her pros and cons.
