Here are some truisms:
Social Media is only becoming MORE important as time passes.
- You can send attachments now via Whatsapp. You can send audio files. You can use Web Whatsapp from your desktop. Send broadcast messages and create groups
- You can set calendar reminders via Facebook messenger; use a whole range of emoji’s
- People spend more time on Social Media than they do on email
Some of the statistics that reflect the strength of email are because of its legacy – i.e how long it has been around. In a B2B environment it’s still the premier choice – but in a B2C environment – there are many that are more engaged with social media than email.
Predominantly the younger audience – and the younger of today will be the executives of tomorrow – so we atfeel that the strength of social media will only KEEP growing. Especially for Gen Y/Z.
So it does depend upon your audience. But over the long-er term (5-7 years+) – social will become more important.
