Don’t create content on your own blog
If you had to boil your outreach, i.e. promotion strategy to just one thing…
Then really all of the SEO onsite/offsite and search elements don’t apply. As much as technical changes, site speed, blogging and all of these elements DO MATTER of course. You need to be seen/heard first – and trying to do it simply through onsite efforts…
Will not work for you. So…
Focus on building and investing 1 hour per day in one platform and one platform only. Pick a social media or blogging platform with an inbuilt community.
Think of it a little bit like a funnel.
The (online) business world is trying to compete for a Google Search rankingMuch of the (online) business world is trying to compete for Facebook Like Page reachSlightly less of the (online) business world is aiming for a Twitter rankingAnd it continues down the funnel (not necessarily in this order)
But you have YouTube, Slideshare, Tumblr, Quora, Medium, Instagram and many many other social media platforms.
So the one SEO strategy that is easier than trying to drive traffic to your blog is attempting to drive traffic to a Social Profile and then pushing your weight from there!
